My Music

Check out the Guidewire Exchange Workout

Music has been a big part of my being since I began high school. Up until that point I had never really thought to much about it.  Nothing really caught my interest.  Ever since my family purchased a computer in grade 9 I have fooled around with the music making process. A lot of experimenting has been done over these past few years, some of which weren't to successful and some of which actually made it on to my local community radio station cjtr. It's getting better every day.

Ableton Live has been my newest exploration of sound. If you listen to the exchange show above or tracks from "Meme Theory" in the player above...you'll hear Ableton-isms. Ableton's sample manipulation is 10 times better than Reason's power to mostly sequence midi. Truely some lovely things will come out of the program. But, I suppose we must always remember creativity isn't just the tools.

I have also been playing around with programs such as ACID, Nuendo, Puredata,MAX/MSP, and Protools, and other interesting sound generators.

I put together a CD with tracks I felt reasonably good about. I made a snazzy cover and label...that's got to mean something.  I've been selling a few copies here, there, and at Roca Jacks down on Scarth street.

I also host a radioshow on CJTR every Friday from 7pm to 9pm.  If you are out of province or country you can make a listen to it if you can figure out the time difference.
